March: Created on Purpose

In the beginning.

This would be a logical place to start, right?

Somehow, it seems like the perfect place to visit before we head into the Promised Land, is the beginning. The place where our “why” is formed, where the first covenant is established and where the gift of God’s promise is made. And yet, there is a sense that there was more, even before the beginning.

God has no beginning and no end. It’s part of the secret things, the things that belong to Him and have not been given to us to understand. Thankfully, we don’t need to understand those things to understand His sovereignty and His role as Creator. His omnipresence is proof that our existence isn’t by happenstance. It’s for a reason.

For the month of March, we’ll study the first book of the Bible — the beginning. We’ll discover our purpose and God’s plan, His covenant with His people and the ancestors that came before, the great men that were Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and their wives, of course.

We’ll be reviewing the book of Genesis, and discovering why God created us, on purpose.
