June: Ordinary to Extraordinary

Have you every applied for a job, entered a contest or shot your shot at someone you didn’t feel qualified for, andyou get it?

That’s how God works.

Think of the least qualified person you know. Someone most would consider unworthy, either by character, gender, age, status or any other factor. Spoiler alert: It might be you.

Chances are God is shifting them into position for His glory.

The Bible is filled with stories of unlikely characters, people God chose to bring His will to fruition, so that we might know it was Him.

When the impossible happens, we know it’s because “God did.” After all, who else but God?!

This month, we’re exploring the stories of ordinary people to whom God gave extraordinary callings. As we read the books of Ruth and 1 Samuel, reflect on God’s extraordinary calling on your life, and how you can answer the call, even in the midst of ordinary.
